The Work

The challenge:

A European Home Depot /DIY brand wanted to understand best practices for seamless retail (online, in apps and in-store), and use them to fuel their own innovation pipeline.

The approach:

We curated an inspirational, cross category shopping safari (athletic apparel, fashion, beauty and retail-tainment), to see what we could learn about these customer journeys, in-store experiences, staff interactions and digital services.

Why it worked:

We collectively gained first-hand exposure with brands that were masterfully weaving cutting-edge technology with flagship environments and branded experiences. This helped us clearly identify new criteria for providing better, individualized service, channel-specific experiences and unique community-building platforms for our client. We used these principles to propose product, service and store environment innovations along a 1-year, 3-year, and5-year timeline.

Owler Hook:
Cross-category Inspiration leads to rich ideas. Here, we learned the technologies and channels had to empower the people.True to the DIY spirit, the best innovations helped customers find/choose items and equipped staff to advise, guide, and enable purchases.
